Through My Husband

Hawaii, When I lived in Korea, before I moved to Hawaii, I never though about I could live in Hawaii. I though that if I visit Hawaii, it is only my honeymoon place. This unfamiliar place, how can I connect to the aina? The reason is because my husband. My husband have lived in Hawaii, but I lived in Korea, so we could not meet each other. But My father and his uncle are best friend, so they introduced to us each other. At the first, we were connecting by KakaoTalk (Korea’s messenger) and then, he visited Korea, so we met for the first time after three months since we knew each other. After, we were good relationship for one year, and then we finally married. That is why I have lived in Hawaii.

The aina is a paradise place, beautiful beaches and mountains, nice weather. Especially, the rainbow is beautiful. When I was a child, I could see the rainbow in Korea, but I grew up and then, I never saw it because there is much dusty in the sky, so I could hardly see the blue sky. After I moved to Hawaii, often I can see the beautiful rainbow. It makes me happy. When I saw the rainbow for the first time in Hawaii, I yelled to my husband and surprised. That time some people near to us who looked at me very strangely. I through my husband connect the aina, but sometimes I can see the rainbow, so I love the beautiful aina.

  1. H Aileen- When I first moved here, I would rush to get my phone out to take a picture whenever I saw a rainbow. I think the local people thought for sure I was some crazy tourist taking pictures of the rainbows- I don’t think the local people even notice them that much because they are so used to them. I love the rainbows- it is something so special about Hawaii.
